I'm Mother of the Year, Again...

Yesterday the boys enjoyed a snow day. But, today, they grumbled as they bundled up and dragged themselves through the snow to catch the school bus.

Wait. Did I say bundle up? Strike that. Check out what the 11yr old chose to wear to school today.

Oh, and he decided not to wear a real coat either. Just a zip up hoodie. Feel free to award me the Mother of the Year trophy anytime...

  1. LMAO!!! Are those allowed in their school??
I always wonder what it'd feel like to wear a pair of those..

  2. I award you "Cool Mom of the Year" for allowing your 11 year old to express himself and not get into a power struggle. :)

    How's that? :)

  3. I just remind my kids that if they get pneumonia, and have to go to the hospital, we're going to pay for it from their inheritance...LOL
It hasn't stopped them yet :o)

  4. I can't get my tween to dress warm either! What is that...when did frostbite become cool?? We have windchill warnings because it is SO cold here...I have to threaten life and death to get that boy bundled up!

  5. Those things are hilarious! My kids hate to wear shoes. Even in the snow. They want to wear crocs.

  6. The thought of those shoes makes me toes feel squirmy, You're far better prepared then parents here who let their children stand outside in shirts and thirst in rainy, really cold weather.

  10. Perhaps life lessons learned the hard way - and you DO get the MOTY award for letting him learn it on his own! :)

  11. Love it! Those ARE some crazy shoes. Funny story.... My girlfriend came to my son's little league game last summer and realized her (toddler) didn't have any shoes on. Since it was too far to drive back to her house, she went across the street to Walmart to buy him a pair! I think we all compete for Mother Of the Year every now & then!

  12. Haha! Those toe shoes are so crazy looking, but they're the newest hype apparently. I think that kids must have different blood than adults because I see them running out into the snow in shorts and not even flinch. It makes me shiver!

  13. Are those supposed to be really comfy? I love when Monk dresses himself, always NOT what I would have picked out :)

  14. Well those "shoes" are all the rage :-) So you should get mother of the year for buying them for him!! Glad to know you're still running over here- I've returned from my hiatus ... hope to hear from you soon over at my place!

  15. Oh my gosh, it is a DAILY discussion in our house over what constitutes a "coat," a "jacket," and a "sweatshirt". I swear these kids are just hoping that sooner than later, I will either give up or become senile and forget about it!! Oh, and flip flops don't count as proper attire for snow. Just sayin'. But there have been plenty of days that I have given up and let them win and secretly prayed they'd freeze their tushes off so they'd do it my way finally!! Good luck to you! :)
