We gathered together the items we needed.

And, little fingers went to work.

After all of the sticks were placed in the apples, we made the caramel.

And then waited for the caramel to cool..

We waited and waited..

And, finally, began to dip the apples in the caramel.

Then we rolled the apples in sprinkles.

And placed them, one by one, on a cookie sheet to cool.

But, of course, the apples needed more sprinkles!

And, voila!, we have our finished product.

Now never having any self control myself, I let him dig in right away!

And, at the end of this fun adventure, with caramel and sprinkles covering his face, the 8yr old said..."this was so much fun! But, mom, no offense the ones we buy at the store are better"... It's a good thing he's so cute!

I'm so wishing that "Wonka-vision" was a real thing . . . I would reach right in and grab and apple (with all the fixin's of course!) Lovely caramel apples!!! Hope you are enjoying them!
ReplyDeleteThey look delicious!
ReplyDeleteand your son is adorable!!
Have a fabulous Sunday :)
I have never made these, always bought 'em. Thanks for the idea!!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos and I'm sure yours were actually better than the store bought ones.
ReplyDeleteYum, that apple looks mighty fine.
ReplyDeleteDon't ya just love the good ol brutal honesty from an 8 year old? I'm always quite aware of when it's time to get my hair highlighted, my breath smells like Doritos or if I've overcooked dinner thanks to my years of drilling it into my son's head that he must always tell the truth. Now I need spend the next 8 years teaching him some sort of "little white lie filter" before he gets married and tells his wife her butt looks big! Well, you get an A for effort on the apples!
ReplyDeleteAND your son is adorable! Love the big blue eyes!!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are perfect! And I'm envious - every time I try and make caramel apples the caramel melts onto the pan, leaving me with a caramel-covered pan and a bunch of apples on sticks!
ReplyDeleteOMG, THAT is exactly what my C will look like in 7 years! How did I end up having your youngest son????
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful - especially to help my daughter lose her 1st loose tooth! Found you at Meen & Greet Monday. I think you'd have fun at www.magicalmouseschoolhouse.com, where Disney IS school!
