So, fellow bloggers over 30 - if you are in your 20's you probably still have a fabulously taut and wrinkle free face - what are your thoughts on Botox? I am personally quite conflicted on the subject. I will admit I have tried it and I did love the effect it had on my forehead. My doctor did a great job and it looked very natural (R didn't even notice the birthday present I gave to myself!). I could raise my eyebrows and I could even make that "mean mom" squinty expression. However, I am not so sure that I am happy that I injected that stuff into my face. I will admit that I am obviously vain enough that I tried it, but now, 6 months later my wrinkles are just starting to show themselves again. And, I am wondering if I go in for a touch up. Hmmmm.... What to do? I love the wisdom that comes from aging. But, I really do not love the saggy wrinkly skin! What are your thoughts? Do you Botox? Why or why not? And, if you are one of my fabulously wrinkle free readers, when the time comes and those little lines start to appear, what will you do?

I go back and forth on this one, too! I've never had Botox, mostly because I've seen too many people who have gone overboard with it, and look terrible. The fact that you had it and were happy with the results makes me want to reconsider!
I would botox in a skinny minute! Saving up for the new boobies right now. I lost 35 lbs and now EVERYTHING is wrinkly and saggy.
*the downside of weight loss*
I have not Botoxed yet but I may ... I have no problem with people doing what they need to do to keep themselves feeling good- and if it looks good and you can afford it then GFI!! Just know when enough is enough- ya' know! And Aphrodite says do it baby!!
Okay I'm in my 20's....so I can't talk from personal experience... however skin care is my business and I will tell you that there are some wonderful botanically based skin care lines out there that will help smooth out those wrinkles without the yucky side effects of botox! Invest in a great line that has lots of topical anti-oxidants in it! That's my two cents.... ; )
I'm with Ashley on this one, I'm in my 20's so I have no personal experience, however when I start to see wrinkles appear I'm going to try a different approach to free myself from wrinkles, however if it's ineffective I can see several people going for botox. At the moment I'd say I'm not even contemplating it... then again I'm scared of needles so don't wish to inject myself to look a little bit better (I know I'm crazy!)
I can't bring myself to do it...
I'm not sure if you read my post on this a couple weeks ago, but I'm definitely for Botox! In fact I'm for plastic surgery, in general:) Not to extreme measures though!
I work with 2 doctors who only do ocular plastics, which means they only do plastic surgery of the eyes and face. Just last week, I asked one of them about Botox, and what you can expect from it. He said that (like you said) it lasts about 6 months. However, he said after consecutive treatments, you can see a decrease of those wrinkles for more long term! So, that's something to think about!
Well, my husband is a scientist and cannot even believe that people would allow themselves to be injected with botulinum toxin. I'm for sure not seeing that on my list of things to save for. ;-)
I have seriously been considering it myself, but need to explore it more . . . .
I would probably do it, but it's more of a $ issue than anything else for me.
I don't botox yet, but I'm not gonna lie. I totally would.
I am just 30 now, so this has not crossed my mind yet!! I'm hoping the obsessive moisturizing I've done over the years will stave off the wrinkles for a little while at least!
No botox here and never could. I am 36 and a mom of 3 and I see my lines, wrinkles, and what have you as badges. I do what I can to age gracefully naturally and the rest I leave to mother nature. There's nothing worse than seeing someone look like Joan Rivers and thinking they look good ;)
And here's some TMI for you: of course, I have issues with, ahem, my chest. I am a small girl who was graced with giant girls when I was pregnant and nursing. Of course, now I have these awful, tiny empty pudding sacks. I've contemplated augmentation millions of times. But when it comes down to it, I am waaaay too chicken to go under. I can't risk that. So instead, I buy really good undergarments to make me look like I still have it going on. lol.
When I was in my teens, I had my teeth veneered because they were stained from antibiotics I had to take as a baby.
All of a sudden, I wasn't self-concious and started to smile more often. I wasn't worried about what I looked like, so I was able to concentrate on other people...what a difference that made.
I'd do it again in a heartbeat. One day, I may say the same for botox.
I am almost 44...of course I have wrinkles and have considered this....however I am opting not to at this point. I still look pretty good in my ever humble opinion. I figure god willing by the time I reach my 50's let the fun begin. I would hold off, because once you start I think it becomes a want more than a need:)!~ Following you from the friday follow
